North Station development

The City of Stockholm, the City of Solna, Stockholm County Council, Karolinska Insititutet, KTH and Stockholm University has together with some representatives from the life science business sector drawn up a vision for North Station, Vision 2025. Here it is stated that North Station shall become one of Europe’s premier areas for life science.

Stockholm city center is planned to be extended northwards, over North Station, to Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital and unite Stockholm with Solna.

Vision 2025
To implement Vision 2025 Stockholm Science City Foundation works with different concept development projects:

SciLife Lab
SciLife Lab (Science fore Life Laboratory), a concept originally developed by the scientific council of Stockholm Science City Foundation and is a national elite laboratory within transdisciplinary research. The Swedish government has commissioned Per Unckel, the former Minister of Education in Sweden, to inquire the concept SciLife Lab.

Scandinavian Life Science
Scandinavian Life Science is a concept of a life science building / buildings in North Station with the vision to be a centre and a catalyst for life science in Stockholm, to be an arena for collaborations between business, academia, innovation and clinical research and to offer a creative milieu for business and research collaborations.
