The Swedish Minister for Higher Education and Research, Lars Leijonborg wants to stimulate Swedish research companies.
The government wants to stimulate competitive power among Swedish companies and suggests three key ares that will probably be found in the fall’s research bill.
Among the Minister’s suggestions are the removal of VAT on higher education and the increase of State grants for research. He also proposes improved tax conditions for those who want to donate money to research. “I commit myself to appointing a special commissioner in the near future who will look over the process for donations to research within companies,” says the Minister Lars Leijonborg. The research bill will, according to the Minister, be presented at the end of October this year. Source:BiotechScandinavia.
