The Göran Gustafsson awards of this year

The greatest national prices of nature sciences

- are seen as the most prestigious and wanted prices among young Swedish scientists. The prices include a personal check on 100 000 SEK and 4,5 MSEK dedicated to research over a period of three years.

The Göran Gustafsson prices of 2007 are awarded:
Carel Faber, professor in mathematics at the Royal Institute of Technology, and Christos Samakovlis, professor in zoological biology, Stockholm University.

Also awarded this year;
Igor Abrikosov, professor in theoretical physics at the University of Linköping, Mikael Akke, professor in physical chemistry, Lund, and Lars Nyberg, professor i psychology at Umeå University.
The awardwinning ceremony was held on  March 31 mars 2007.

The Göran Gustafsson prices are beeing administrated on a yearly basis since 1991 within mathematics, physics, chemistry, molecular biology and medicin by the foundation Göran Gustafsson for nature sciences and medical research. The foundation administers a capital of a little over 1000 MSEK.
