New Karolinska University Hospital

This weekend the construction of a new hospital building – scheduled for completion in 2013 – passed one more important milestone with the inauguration of an exhibition of the five proposals produced during the design competition.

Hospital Director Cecilia Schelin Seidegård and County Council Commissioner for Investment Dag Larsson were both enthusiastic and pointed out that the current Karolinska Hospital in Solna will become smaller and more specialised than it is at present. By collecting the highly specialised care and resource-intensive research in Karolinska Solna, preconditions for the creation of internationally competitive research and medical care will be established.
