The Swedish government supports Life Science initiatives in Stockholm Science City/Vetenskapsstaden
Today the Swedish government presented their description of how the public research money will be spent the up-coming four years. The description clearly supports the life science project initiated by Stockholm Science City Foundation's scientific council.
The description comments the project SciLife Lab - a national life science centre - which was initiated by the scientific council at Stockholm Science City Foundation, in a positive way. The scientific council consists of high level research representatives from the universities in Stockholm and the county. The project has been further run by the county general and the presidents at the universities.
The government states that 2 MSEK shall be allocated to an official report regarding such a national centre.
Further more the government says the project has the potential of becoming an internationally very strong research environment. The government aims to support SciLife Lab not only from a national perspective but also due to the fact that the project is a collaboration between the three prominent research universities.
”We are happy the government perceives the collaboration of the three universities in a positive way”, states Henrik Mickos, CEO Stockholm Science City Foundation.
